The Discovery Channel is launching a focused on environmental issues and lifestyle. This will no doubt be rich pitching fodder for the PR industry, particularly on the consumer side, where I think there is great opportunity. Like Ikea is doing with it’s “pay for your bag” program, companies are finding ways to help consumers who are looking for was to be more green oriented, as long as they don’t have to sacrifice quality and convenience. It’s a big topic we’ll be exploring at the conference, with Ikea, Dell, and Mercedes-Benz in particular as part of our Consumer panel.
