The department of short-term outlook
Last night, I attended a rock show (ed: trying to sound as unhip as possible) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn - for a friend of a friend. His set was part of an Earth Day showcase. Someone (the bar’s Web site has been updated, so I can’t find the link) was on hand to sign people up to ConEd Solutions, which gives residents the opportunity to select wind power for their homes, instead of the traditional power source. Anyone who signed up got a free beer. Of course, wind power costs anywhere from $5 to $10 more a month, so the beer was more reward than enticement. A delicious reward indeed.
